Grandma Montgomery’s Dutch Apple Crumble Pie

Our featured recipe this month is holiday baking with your family…a special family tradition…”Grandma Montgomery’s Dutch Apple Crumble Pie”.
Ingredients for the pie:
- 1 9 inch deep pie crust
- 3 C of Granny Smith apples peeled and chopped
- ½ C Sugar
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp Flour
Ingredients for the topping:
- ¾ C Flour
- ¾ C Sugar
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- 1 stick of butter – softened
Let’s Make it!
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Peel, cut and slice apples….hopefully with an Apple Peeler Corer Slicer (Pampered Chef). Add apples, sugar, cinnamon, flour and nutmeg to a bowl and mix.
- Arrange apples in a pie shell evenly.
- To make the topping: add all topping ingredients in a bowl. Using a pastry blender, mix ingredients until mixture becomes crumbly. Place topping on top of the apples and bake for 15 minutes at 450 degrees then lower oven to 350 degrees and bake for 1 hour.
