The spirit of Hawaii took over OC earlier this month. It found its way to Nordstrom at the South Coast Plaza mall, where professional surfer CoCo Ho celebrated the launch of her new clothing line with Volcom.
Beautiful pieces of clothing from the line were on display, and it was evident that they were tailor-made for a day at the beach. The pieces included maxi dresses, skirts, windbreakers, rompers and more. With patterns ranging from beautiful florals to sporty pin stripes, the pieces serve as cute bathing suit cover-ups and outfits that you can wear while strolling around town.
“The comfort with the line was necessary,” Coco said. “Everything is a little flowy and a little oversized which is trending, so it’s great.”
Following in the footsteps of her father, professional surfer Michael Ho, Coco has made a name for herself internationally. She has won numerous surfing titles including the Triple Crown Rookie of the Year, the World Qualifying Champion, and the WCT Ripcurl Search Portugal Champion. She has also dabbled into acting, starring in multiple movies including Blue Crush, Six Days in Paradise, She Is the Ocean, and First Love. Not only is she a decorated surfer and actor, but she now gets to add her own clothing line to her impressive resume. She has teamed up with Volcom many times in the past, but never to this extent.
“My partnership with Volcom has been about 19 years long,” Coco said. “I think just finally working on my first collection is super exciting and it gave me another focus. I was injured last year, and everything just fell into place.”
Young girls and women alike crowded around the display, where craft tables were set up to allow guests to make their own lei and flower crown.
Sporting a comfy sweater paired with a flowy dress from her line, Coco found camp in front of a decorated photo backdrop, where fans were able to meet her and take pictures.
Coco continues to celebrate the launch of her line by embarking on a meet and greet tour in different cities across the U.S. You can find her line in a Volcom, Nordstrom, or Tillys store, or in a local surf shop near you.
