MEET A MOM : Branda Lin | Irvine Moms

Hello Irvine Moms,

I am an Irvine native and a mother of two. After I got married, I moved to the East Coast and quickly realized how special Irvine really is — even more so after having our
first baby and moving back. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful parks, schools, shopping, and restaurants, and in such a safe setting. This is in large part due to the dedicated people at Irvine City Hall that work hard to maintain and preserve our quality of life. As I have also come to learn, one of the best things you can do for your family is to invest in your community and get involved.
In 2018, some friends and I started Irvine Watchdog (irvinewatchdog.org), which is dedicated to following Irvine City Hall and the decisions that are made there. Then in January of this year I was appointed by Councilwoman Farrah Khan to serve on the Community Services Commission. Commissions serve as advisory boards for the City Council, in this case by bringing the residents’ perspective on our parks, community programs, and facilities. Getting to see the inner workings of our city government has been so rewarding and I hope to learn how to best advocate for Irvine residents during my time serving in this capacity.
Our collective voices lead to important changes for our city so I encourage all Irvine Moms to get involved! I would love to hear your ideas for our city —  feel free to email me at [email protected] to get started!
