What inspired you to write a Book?

I was passionate about moms hearing that we all struggle, we all have stuff, and we are all imperfect, and the truth that my faith in Christ is the only glue to keep me from not losing my mind.

Please share advice you wish you would have known as Mom to little(s) that you can help pass on to Moms?

Comparison is a trap. Every child and mom is different and everyone has some type of issue that they are dealing with. Find a tribe of moms both in your stage of life and older who can speak truth in your life and who are willing to be transparent and vulnerable.

Have you noticed a change in your Parenting style as your Kids have gotten older?

Yes. I tell people that parenting doesn’t get easier it just gets different. Each stage of a child’s life brings a different set of parenting adjustments. And, what worked for one child may not work for another. Stay on your toes! Be flexible!

What is the best part about being a Mom?

I am passionate about being the most fun mom around. We laugh and joke together on a regular basis. and the hardest? When my kids are hurting it absolutely ruins me. People are mean, and life is tough. I know that trials and pain are inevitable but it breaks my heart when they are hurting. I take my Momma Bear title very seriously.

How can Parents create a strong community with solid friendships for themselves and with eachother, in a day and age of Technology?

Make an effort to engage. Be part of something. Whether it means grabbing coffee after preschool drop off, connecting with sport team parents, joining a group like MOPS, or attending church. It can look like one solid friend, or sixteen moms. Everyone is different. And, take care great care of your marriage. Don’t stop dating.

What is your favorite holiday memory?

Growing up our family always opened presents on Christmas Eve while Christmas Day was spent at church and with our family. I LOVE that my family celebrates traditionally with Santa, and morning gift opening, with Christmas music combined with breakfast. My husband makes the most amazing cinnamon rolls on the planet.

When you jog, what is on your motivation? Food. I jog so that I can eat refried beans and tortilla chips. I also relish this time to clear my head and spend time with God in prayer.

On  your playlist?

Steely Dan, Jack Johnson, Justin Timberlake, Bethel Music, Hillsong, country, jazz, I love variety.

When you travel, what is a must do for you?

Paddleboard, bike, ski, rollerblade, walk, jog, boat, any activity outdoors. NO SITTING. I am an “on the move” person to a fault.

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

Chocolate chip ice cream with whipped cream and Sprinkles cupcakes. I have so many more but we are on a word limit. The fact that Salt and Straw just opened in Downtown Disney makes me giddy. I need to up my exercise regime in order to accommodate the extra calories.
